The journey to a significant place in the things of God begins with asking the right questions. The disciples of Jesus had trouble casting out a particular demon while Jesus was away. They started arguing with the people! You see when there’s no results, insults are inevitable! Most of the arguments that ensue about God, Church etc today are due to lack of overwhelming evidence! When God truly shows up, all arguments are totally silenced!
But then, their arguments with the people were probably about the wrong questions, “why didn’t God do it?” Many of us ask the same wrong questions and get further stuck in unbelief. Wrong questions puts the responsibility on God, the right questions puts the responsibility on us and gives us room for going deeper and pursuing God for divine answers.
Rather than change your theology to fit your tragedy, you need to change you! You should ask this way, “what in me is not allowing me to experience the love, word and power of God as I see Him manifest in others and read in the Bible? Rather than “why is God doing it over there and not over here, then and not now?”
